Sr. Engineer - BCM Component Owner
A purpose driven role for you
The E&E Validation Engineer is dedicated to performing extensive validation of automotive
electrical components across component, subsystem, and system levels to ensure peak
operational performance and durability over a vehicle's entire service life. Tasked with evaluating
various vehicle operation and handling scenarios, the role involves creating precise validation
specifications and acceptance criteria, followed by meticulous testing. Specifically focusing on
Instrument Consoles and Body Control Modules (BCM) in two-wheeler applications, the engineer
must possess a robust technical understanding of electrical and electronic features. By translating
real-world operating conditions into rigorous validation standards, the role ensures product
functionality and ruggedness through actual components and vehicle-level testing.
A Day in the life
Validation of any type automotive Electrical & electronic components &
it’s functionality for ICE vehicle components.
Testing infrastructure upgradation to meet latest test requirements.
Preparing new test cases, test manuals/SOPs, & Prepare comprehensive test reports, test metrics, and compliance matrix for review with internal teams and
stakeholders.
To prepare the test setups and perform the test as per Electrical Schematic,
electrical test standards, confirm regulation compliances & analysing the test data
Benchmarking, Correlation of testing and design parameters & ensuring DFMEA,
DFA, DFM and DOE
Performing VA/VE ideas, and analysing warranty issue and correcting it in design
Academic Qualification & Experience
BE/BTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related field from renowned Institute
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of Instrument Clusters (TFT/LCD
displays, gauges, tell-tales) and BCM functionality (lighting, understanding the
electrical schematic / architecture)
Tools: Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape),
oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and programmable power supplies.
Understanding Automotive functional Safety Integrity Levels
Protocols & Standards: Proficiency with CAN, LIN, and UDS (ISO 14229)
protocols. Familiarity with automotive EMI/EMC and environmental testing
standards (e.g., ISO 16750).
Ability to formulate and interpret Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
Knowledge in Test Automation & Scripting languages like CAPL
Knowledge of LCD/TFT display Artwork Inspection.
Experienced in Connectivity features & OTA validation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills. A proactive
mindset with the ability to manage testing timelines efficiently
Understanding time and cost implications and its control business acumen
Excellent communication and documentation skills to interact with
cross-functional teams (Design, Software, and Quality).
