Role
The Sr. Engineer -Vehicle Performance is responsible for the timely executing vehicle-level performance, thermal, and homologation validation processes to deliver highly accurate test data ensuring the Performance, Reliability and Safety of our vehicles throughout their development lifecycle.
A purpose driven role for you
*Responsible for guiding team of test engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture, Formulate comprehensive vehicle level validation plans, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables. The role also involves the preparation and performing of vehicle tests as well as the reporting of results achieved by providing written reports of quantitative and qualitative feedback of the vehicle performance.
*Manage the lifecycle of high-precision instruments and sensors, including procurement, calibration, and routine maintenance. Ensure correct sensor selection, integration, and instrumentation setup on test vehicles for accurate data capture
*Responsible for providing the feedback that drive the changes to achieve the defined project targets.
A Day in the life
*Manage vehicle performance, chassis dyno, and thermal testing schedules to meet internal performance benchmarks and project timelines.
*Oversee instrumentation of test vehicles.
*Data loggers and sensors procurement, calibration, and upkeep to provide the engineering team with reliable, precise, and continuous data acquisition capabilities.
*Coordinate and execute domestic and export vehicle homologation tests to ensure regulatory compliance with target market standards.
*Mentor and develop a team of test engineers and technicians to elevate the overall technical capability, safety compliance, and output quality of the Vehicle Validation Dept.
Academic Qualification & Experience
Diploma / Bachelor’s (B.E./B.Tech) / Master’s degree (M.E / M.Tech) in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
Diploma with minimum 12 years of relevant experience OR B.E./B.Tech with minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience working with 2-wheeler manufacturer OR Master’s with 5 years of relevant experience.
Note: Any experience in motorcycle racing in on-road or off-road categories at top level in national or international championships is preferred.
Technical Skills/Knowledge
*Advanced knowledge of motorcycle dynamics, powertrain performance metrics, and thermal management systems.
*Hands-on proficiency with DAQ systems (e.g., 2D, Racelogic VBox, Vector tools, Influx loggers, IPETRONIK loggers, etc) and sensors (thermocouples, pressure transducers, encoders, LVDT, etc).
*Deep understanding of domestic and international regulatory testing standards for vehicle performance tests
*Proven capability to work under tight deadlines, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and perform root-cause analysis on complex observations.
*Very good riding skills along with experience of motorcycle handling/dynamics, suspension, brakes and ergonomics evaluation and development

Communication - able to communicate test results in English, clearly and professionally in verbal and written format
