Section Head

A purpose driven role for you

The Head of Section Engine Simulation is responsible to simulate and perform 1D, CFD, FEA, Gas Exchange , Combustion & Spray Simulation for as per approved model strategy state of art engines and technologies, further improve existing products, focus on the section’s engagement in engine technology and research related activities and ensures such delivery within CTQ parameters by developing and guiding a self-reliant team of engineers along with established relevant processes that enable delivering such highly competitive engines and technologies preferably in house.

A Day in the life

Provides and owns section-specific technical solutions (incl. trade-off and decisions) meeting the CTQ targets for his assembly- Head of Engine Stimulation section. Setting-up robust internal simulation driven design and development processes for adherence to quality norms
Guidance in all technical issues and ensure know how enhancement to his team- Support build-up of independent and innovative engine design team Develops schedule for deliverables in order to meet target agreement- Ensure in time completion of all related development tasks
Effective test planning and monitoring the progress of the project Collaborate/integrate with all related departments and functions
Ensures skilled and sufficient resources, infrastructure and processes in order to deliver technical solutions- Give guidance / training to allow fast track expertise build


Provides innovations and new technologies, ensures commonality compliant to HMCL long-term strategy - Identification of new products, viability and feasibility assessment of identified product to full potential.
Support market quality issues with simulation to reproduce the failure and validate the counter measures
Benchmarking of competitors engines. Escalate in case of unresolvable conflicts of CTQ targets - Effective communication with senior management team for timely future decisions.

Academic Qualification & Experience

Graduate/ Post Graduate/B.E/B. Tech
Engineering
16+ Years in Automotive Industry
R&D 2W preferable
Knowledge and proven experience in 2W products are appreciated
Simulation Tools

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Solid internal combustion engine background.
In depth knowledge of various engine design, simulation tools and processes
Basic know how on FEA
Good knowledge of engine thermodynamics
Understanding of all engine components design functionality, vehicle dynamics and impact
Proven record of work with post processing tools for analysis of data.
Strong technical exposure to motorcyle engines and transmission
Sound knowledge on global technology trends
Exposure to advance engine technology, keen interest in it.
Have experience with top engine design consultants
High level of production/manufacturing understanding

Behavioural Skills

Proven experience in team management and leadership

International and multi-cultural approach

Fluent communication skills
