Engineer - Suspension Design

A purpose driven role for you

The Engineer will be responsible for:
• Component level design for chassis parts.
• Suspension system design and development, testing and validation on vehicle.

A Day in the life

• Vehicle and system level benchmarking of competitors
• Generation of detailed benchmarking database for future reference.
• Suspension components (Spring, front fork, shock absorber and damper characteristics) design and development
• Suspension design calculation
• Cad modeling (3 D modeling and 2 D drawing) of chassis components.
• Front and Rear Wheel Assembly layout check and finalization.
• Basic knowledge of FEA analysis
• Generate and implement VA/VE ideas to reduce the product material cost.
• Build prototype vehicle for system evaluation
• Suspension evaluation on road & test bench
• Interact with vendors in development of components to achieved desired performance and cost.

Academic Qualification & Experience

B.Tech/ B.E

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Good knowledge of motorcycle dynamics.
• Sound knowledge of suspension specification & design calculations (front fork, shock absorber)
• Sound knowledge of suspension evaluation on road and test bench
• Sound knowledge of 3D modeling and 2D drawing in Catia V5.
• Ability to develop a system and part concepts.
• Good understanding of DFMEA and GD&T.
• Basic understanding of FE analysis.
• Vehicle level knowledge of adjoining systems & its impact on performance of vehicle.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process
