Short Description

Senior Engineer/ Engineer Design is responsible to design in his core domain as per approved model strategy state of art engines and technologies, further improve existing products and components, support the team engagement in engine technology and research related activities and ensures delivery within CTQ parameters.

The Senior Engineer/ Engineer is responsible to ensure alignment and integration of all simulation and analysis results in his designs as well as review of designs based on actual testing results and a constant dialog with manufacturing and assembly.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides engine design related solutions, Implementation of core technical solutions meeting the CTQ targets for engine design projects
• Guidance in all technical issues and ensure know how enhancement to his team
• Risk Assessment
• Provides innovations and new technologies, ensures commonality compliant to HMCL strategy 
• Escalate in case of unresolvable conflicts of CTQ targets - Effective communication with senior management team for timely future decisions

Skills Information

• Solid internal combustion engine background
• Hands on expertise in design tools (CATIA and ProE)
• Understanding engine development process
• Understanding and experience in design methodology with frontloading
• Proven record of (substantial) work on gasoline and 2 wheeler engines
• Expertise in design for cost and production
• Proficiency in Drawing checking
• Knowledge/worked on fuel injected engines
• Expertise of working in a global context and across continents
• Strong technical exposure to motorcycle engines and transmission
• Sound knowledge on global technology trends
• High level of production/manufacturing understanding
• Keen on new ideas and technologies
• Dynamic and proactive work approach
• Familiar and experienced in using project management tools
• Understanding time and cost implications and its control
• Experienced in handling suppliers and internal/external customers
