The vehicle performance and transmission systems simulation engineer is able to apply engineering principles, theories, and technical core competencies for the advancement of the application of commuter, premium and commuter product portfolios. They must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment as significant vehicle performance development problems are anticipated and solved. Develops standards and guidelines related to the physical science. Directly interfaces with CFT for problem solving, product improvement and cost reduction issues. Validation of engineering specification design for engine and transmission products.
A Day in the life
HEV & ICE Model building: Develop and maintain complex 1D vehicle models for Hybrid (HEV) and ICE two-wheelers using GT-Suite, AVL Cruise M and Simcenter Amesim
HEV Strategy Building & Refinement: Design and refine hybrid control strategies (e.g. torque splitting, regenerative braking logic, and battery state-of-charge management) to maximize efficiency and performance.
Conduct comprehensive performance validation and sensitivity studies to achieve the best trade-off between conflicting parameters – such as fuel economy (WMTC) vs acceleration, and gradient ability vs top speed – by performing detailed transmission and CVT ratio optimization to align powertrain operating points with the vehicle’s “sweet spot” across Indian and global driving cycles
Ability to lead and develop a small team of engineers focused on ‘best in class’ delivery.
