Team Member - EXIM

A purpose driven role for you

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1.Shipment Management: Manage timely dispatch and custom clearance for all import and export shipments.
2.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to Indian Custom Rules, Regulations, and RBI laws.
3.Incentive Optimization: Avail 100% of available EXIM benefits and incentives on time.

A Day in the life

You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:
1.Freight Negotiation: Negotiating with forwarders to achieve the best landed cost for air and sea shipments.
2.Custom Clearance: Ensuring import clearance occurs within 3 days of shipment arrival.
3.Contract Management: Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly contracts for CHAs and shipping lines.
4.Payment Processing: Processing L/C, advance, and direct payments to overseas suppliers in compliance with laws.
5.Lead Time Monitoring: Tracking end-to-end logistics transit times on a daily basis.
6.Cross-functional Education: Advising internal departments and suppliers on Inco Terms and documentation.
7.Cost Improvement: Driving initiatives to reduce existing EXIM costs by 10%.

Academic Qualification & Experience

1.Education: MBA/PG in International Business or B.Sc/B.Com/Engineering with a Diploma in Foreign Trade.
2.Experience: 5–10 years in EXIM, preferably in Automotive or Household appliances.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

1.Custom Laws: Expert knowledge of Indian custom laws and trade policies of dealing countries. 
2.Logistics Documentation: Proficiency in banking documentation, Inco Terms, and RBI compliance.
3.Freight Forwarding: Deep understanding of air and sea freight market dynamics and volatile shipping trends.
4.Financial Management: Ability to manage activities within a large budget (e.g., 182 Cr) and avoid demurrage.
5.Multi-location Logistics: Managing complex logistics across 11+ global and domestic sites.
 

Behavioural Skills

1.Communication: Effectively educating stakeholders on complex import/export procedures.
2.Negotiation: Securing competitive rates in a volatile shipping industry.
3.Team Player: Working collaboratively with Finance, R&D, and Production teams.
4.Analytical Skills: Publishing detailed monthly EXIM MIS and cost improvement reports.
5.Adaptability: Managing logistics complexities during uncertain periods like pandemics.
