Short Description

Lead in analyzing the functionality of Electronic Control Units in congruence with the power train requirement in an Electric Vehicle & Advanced 2Ws and validating their performance. To identify bugs, install databases, and collaborate with the software design team in all aspects of the test specification, testing and delivery of software testing reports supporting the development of Control Units.

Key Responsibilities

Create verification plans for Electric vehicle powertrain control software functions.

  • Analysis of software module requirements and create test scenarios to verify the functionality of control units.
  • Perform as Subject Matter Expert and communicate with the Instructional Designing Team to provide inputs on technical concepts

Coordinate with R&D and Quality teams on resolution of technical issues    

  • Work closely with design & development engineers to troubleshoot software and system issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D and other stakeholders for quality checks and product development
  • Run validation test cases and log bugs

Analysing and interpreting test reports and track issues and defect management in integrated toolchain.

  • Use CAN tool chains to simulate signals across different vehicle Electronic Control Units, to perform individual component validation & generate reports for the same.

Flash software of different Electronic Controller Units using flashing tools provided by suppliers and / or In house flashing tools

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the test environment, including changes in the testing tool chain set up.

Skills Information

  • Experience in automotive SW development toolchain like modelling, simulation, testing and debugging
  • Exposure to Simulation & calibration tools - Matlab, Simulink, Piketec TPT, ETAS INCA, ALM/CLM Tools like DOORS and Polarion. CANoe & CANape is plus
  • Familiarity with vehicle network communication (CAN) & vehicle diagnostics Tools.
  • Knowledge about UDS protocol and OBD protocol in general
  • Knowledge about ISO26262 functional safety standard and clear understanding of software validation processes
  • Strong debugging mind-set, in terms of validation & software modification 
  • High level of analytical ability for unusual problems

M.TECH in ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION or INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY
B.TECH in ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION or INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY

Relevant Experience

  • 4-5 years of experience with powertrain software development and testing
