Category Lead - Sheet Metal & Frame Body
A purpose driven role for you
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1. Supplier Quality Excellence: Deliver high-quality sheet metal and frame components by implementing robust evaluation, auditing, and compliance systems.
2. Supplier Capability Upgradation: Drive handholding programs, training, and special projects to elevate supplier performance ratings.
3. Quality & Supply Stability: Ensure delivery and quality sustenance for mass production lines, new models, and multi-sourced parts.
A Day in the life
You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:
1. On-Site Plant Audits: Conducting planned process and product audits at supplier facilities based on sporadic defect trends.
2. Die & Part Inspection: Inspecting life-over dies for disposal, reviewing PDI reports with marked sample lots, and checking COP/emission compliance.
3. Defect Root-Cause Resolution: Validating root causes and verifying action effectiveness for incoming, FI, MI, BUQI, and warranty nonconformances.
4. QFR & CAPA Management: Driving suppliers to submit robust CAPA proposals to clear open QFRs and prevent repeat failures.
5. Special Improvement Projects: Executing IMP projects at supplier hubs to raise PIST scores and QA ratings on critical structural parts.
6. Audit Timelines: Meeting timelines for change management audits, multi-sourcing evaluations, and new vendor onboarding.
7. Stakeholder Negotiation: Communicating logically with top management to seek approvals and aligning cross-functional teams around quality targets.
Academic Qualification & Experience
1.Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering.
2.Experience: 9 to 14 years of relevant cross-functional or inter-departmental experience.
Technical Skills/Knowledge
1.Domain Expertise: In-depth product and process knowledge in Sheet Metal fabrication and Frame Body manufacturing.
2.Quality Frameworks: In-depth understanding of FMEA, GD&T, and engineering design specifications.
3.Auditing Proficiency: Expert capability in conducting supplier quality audits and process evaluations.
4.Advanced Problem Solving: Structured application of root-cause analysis and defect tracking methodologies.
5.Tool & Die Design: Technical expertise in press tool/die design validation, inspection, and maintenance tracking.
Behavioural Skills
1.Stakeholder Alignment: Advanced ability to manage internal cross-functional peers and external vendor executives.
2.Decision Making: Capability to make sound quality decisions under high-pressure scenarios with limited initial data.
