Buyer- Sourcing & Development (Proprietary)
A purpose driven role for you
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1.Development & Settlement: Execute the development and commercial settlement of Electrical Proprietary and Electrical Lamps parts to ensure timely sample availability.
2.Project Management: Manage motorcycle and series projects within defined cost, timeline, and quality targets for smooth product launches.
3.Maker Finalization: Initiate part development with appropriate technologies and lead times based on the defined sourcing strategy.
A Day in the life
You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:
1.Budget & Proto Costing: Arranging technical details from R&D for budget costs (NREE, Tooling, line investment) and releasing proto POs.
2.New Part Execution: Reviewing development schedules weekly with R&D and suppliers to resolve technical and customer issues.
3.Cost Settlement: Negotiating and settling mass production costs within a 2% variance of the budgeted cost.
4.Innovation & Profitability: Identifying Leap/Lead ideas and VA/VE initiatives during the design stage to enhance profitability.
5.BOM Management: Creating model material BOMs, comparing them with E-BOMs, and coordinating part cost approvals.
6.Market Intelligence: Exploring new technologies, global suppliers, and benchmarking competitor models.
7.Feasibility Tracking: Ensuring technical issue resolution between suppliers and internal COCs while providing feedback to Project Leaders.
Academic Qualification & Experience
1.Education: BE / B.Tech.
2. Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills/Knowledge
1.Technical Know-how: Expertise in the proprietary process and electrical supplier base.
2.Part Development: Deep understanding of the end-to-end part development process.
3.Project Management: Ability to manage complex model event timelines and project MIS.
4.Costing & Negotiation: Strong commercial skills for budget costing and supplier settlements.
5.Market Awareness: Knowledge of upcoming tech trends, government policies, and impact analysis.
Behavioural Skills
1.Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written interaction for cross-functional alignment.
2.Presentation Skills: Ability to present cost compilations and project status to stakeholders.
3.Analytic Skills: Strong capability for RM trend analysis and gap analysis versus base models.
4.Problem Solving: Resolving internal and external customer issues during the development lifecycle.
5.Collaboration: Working within an operating network including R&D, Vendor Development, and SQA.
