Buyer Packaging

A purpose driven role for you

Your responsbilities will include but not limited to-
1. Managing end to end P2P activities of assigned categories
2. Price controls & reviews , New packaging development
3. Savings & Performance
4. Delivery Follow-up
5. Creating SOP / Scheduled agreement for Purchasing area

A Day in the life

You will be working on day-to-day basis on following-
1. Source potential Vendors, manage the request for proposal (RFP) process, and evaluate vendor proposals based on factors such as functionality, pricing, warranty, after sales support
2. Price settlement with suppliers
3. Automation of processes & e-procurement practices.
4. Development of alternate Suppliers
5. Conduct regular price reviews based on commodity price movements in paper, steel, and polythene to ensure cost competitiveness.
6. Lead packaging development initiatives for global automotive projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, logistics, and quality).
7. Develop and execute packaging cost models and benchmarking for items such as corrugated boxes, laminates, bubble wraps, steel boxes, and wooden crates.
8. To settle Schedule Agreement/ annual rate contracts (ARC) for assigned category, Price negotiation with supplier for PR based / Spot buying with local & global suppliers
9.Ensure timely material delivery of material/services against committed dates, Ensure Quality & user feedback is incorporated in future ordering

Academic Qualification & Experience

1. B.Tech in Packaging engineering , Graduate from IIP
(Indian institute of packaging )
2. 8-10 years of experience

Technical Skills/Knowledge

1. Strong understanding of commodity price trends in paper, steel, and polymers.
2. Proven record of accomplishment in packaging design and development projects
3. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
4. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP) and data analytics tools for price tracking.
5. Ability to manage complex supply chains across multiple manufacturing locations.
