A purpose driven role for you

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1. Indirect Sourcing: Procure material, special tools, and workshop equipment for plants, corporate offices, and learning centres.
2. Strategy Development: Develop sourcing strategies, define justified cost bases, and manage supplier selection/RFQ processes.
3. Cost Innovation: Identify LEAP projects and drive cost savings through alternate sourcing and negotiation.

A Day in the life

You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:
1. PR-PO Conversion: Managing the timely conversion of Purchase Requisitions to Orders for A & B class items.
2. Schedule Management: Releasing monthly schedules and conducting daily follow-ups to ensure 100% delivery of regular consumables.
3. Vendor Management: Conducting vendor visits, resolving invoice gate entry issues, and managing 100+ vendor accounts.
4. Comparative Analysis: Preparing and submitting comparative statements for approval within SAP portals.
5. Compliance: Ensuring 100% adherence to departmental SOPs and the defined Delegation of Authority (DOA).
6. Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinating with Finance for road permits/payments and Stores for GRN/rejection issues.
7. Alternative Development: Identifying alternate makes/sources for proprietary or imported items to combat inflation.

Academic Qualification & Experience

1. Education: B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics.
2. Experience: 0–7 years for B.Tech or 6–10 years for Diploma holders in Indirect/MRO area.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

1. SAP MM: Proficiency in SAP MM module transactions and portal-based record keeping.
2. Indirect & MRO Expertise: Deep understanding of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and indirect purchasing cycles.
3. Negotiation: Strong skills to handle low APV vendors and achieve annual saving targets.
4. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze quotes and prepare complex comparative statements.
5. Statutory Compliance: Knowledge of statutory forms and road permit requirements.

Behavioural Skills

1. Customer Focus: Strong orientation toward understanding and fulfilling end-user requirements across plants.
2. Relationship Building: Ability to build relations with a large vendor base and internal stakeholders.
3. Process Oriented: Disciplined approach to documentation and SOP adherence.
4. Conflict Resolution: Resolving daily delivery and quality issues with suppliers and logistics providers.
5. Result Orientation: Capability to deliver results within committed dates and budget parameters.
